A Classic French Mani with a Twist
First start off by painting your nails your favorite nude shade.
Then, after they are nice and dry, you will add the white base. I love the Sally Hansen Xtreme line because they dry quickly and its a good consistency. Not too thick, and not too watery. I used a ziplock baggie to be able to sponge up the color. Put a couple of drops on the baggie, then spread it out with a toothpick or dotting tool so that when you blot it with the make-up sponge, you have an even spread.
Blot the sponge across the nail polish on the baggie then quickly transfer it to the tips of your nails. You can make the french tip line as high or low as you want and however thick you want it.
Don't worry about getting it on your skin because that can be easily cleaned up with a small brush and some acetone or nail polish remover.
Don't worry, we're about to blend this.
Next, using the same baggie, put a couple of drops of the nude polish on the baggie. Directly below that add some white drops. Put them close enough to touch or almost touch. With a toothpick or dotting tool, swirl the colors together.
Press the sponge on the blended colors and as you do gently move the sponge up and down to blend the colors on the sponge. This should be a small motion. Then dab the sponge on your nails a few times until you see the desired blend. You can do this process as many times as you like if you want a more bold outcome. I did it once per nail. Your nails will look a little textured, or grainy but once you put the topcoat, it will smooth out.
Now all you have left is clean up! I use a small brush and some acetone to take off the polish that went over the edges to my skin and cuticles. Don't forget your favorite topcoat!
Voila! All done!!
